"Leaseback" is a method of selling your real estate and entering into a lease agreement with the buyer, allowing you to rent part or all of the property you sold while paying rent. Leaseback stands for "Sale and Leaseback."
An example of a leaseback is when a general individual continues to live in his or her familiar residence while obtaining funds from the sale of his or her residence. Another example is when a corporation sells its head office building to another corporation or a real estate investment fund, earning a high profit on the sale, and then leases the property back.
