Don't forget to check whether the vacation home site is owned or leased. There are cases when a property is in a good location but is inexpensive. The reason for this is that the land ownership may be leasehold.
There is nothing wrong with a property where the right to the vacation home site is leasehold. This is because there is no need to bear property tax and city planning tax. However, you will need to pay monthly ground rent to the owner of the land. If you are purchasing a vacation home using a loan, the bank or other loan lender may require that you have a certain amount of time left on the land lease.
Also, please note that you may have to pay a fee to change the name of the contract regarding the leased land at the time of purchase.
